Through Dogwood proceeds and Missions Market funding an additional 60 desks (each seating 3 students) were constructed by the March team. Over a thousand school books were delivered by the PRUMC team so each student would have a book per subject. Over 550 school uniforms were brought from Atlanta private schools and sold to parents for a small price, 100% of the funding went towards paying the 11 volunteer teachers and to buy each teacher a desk. In two days the March team worked alongside many Kenyans and constructed 4 small administrative offices and laid the foundation for extra classrooms and an eating hall. God is good! Thank you PRUMC for the many blessings you cast around the world Mission Trips For information contact Anne French at or or visit Please keep the teams below in your prayers as they travel to Belize and Georgia this month: Belize May 28 - June 5 led by Jeff Koon Georgia May 27 - June 4 led by Gary Schneeberg & Lynn Banks Upcoming Trips: Nicaragua Family (FULL!) Expecting around 100 students, the school was on track and ready when the PRUMC team left in October At that time, our team participated in the ceremony of handing the school over to the Kenyan government, empowering them to educate their future generations. On opening day in January, over 400 children came to the school and by February the number went to 565. It was truly amazing that in this very remote IDP camp called Gituamba, so many young children in the surrounding areas were in need of an elementary school. When Chat and Bill Coble returned to Kenya in February, one of the first places they went to check on was the school. They were totally amazed at the classrooms overfilled with excited and energetic students. 11 volunteer teachers stepped up to help the 6 teachers hired by the government and the hard working, God-filled principal trying his best to educate the students with the resources he was given. Each classroom had 2 books per subject for all the students, desks were scarce, and the teachers did not have a place to sit. learn care give Learn Fall Holy Land Trip Julie Wright and Jamie Jenkins invite you to join them on the trip of a lifetime to the Holy Land September 19-30, 2016 through Educational Opportunities.
